First Grade News – November 16th, 2012
We are moving right along with our First Graders. Be sure and ask your child what they are thankful for.
Thank you to all who joined us for our Thanksgiving lunch. It is always nice to see happy faces.
Due to the short week we will not have reading or math homework.  A new list of spelling words will be given Monday, November 26th.
Don’t forget November’s Extra Challenges!

*On Monday, November 19th the spelling test from last week will be given again. If your child did not make a 100 the first time, we will record the higher of the two scores.

First Grade News – November 2, 2012
It is amazing to see the growth in our First Graders! Thank you for all of your help with your child’s education!
November’s Extra Challenges are in Friday Folders.
Beginning next week your child will have math homework as well as reading.
Please remember to set your clock back an hour Saturday night before you go to bed!

Upcoming Events…
November 5th students are out and teachers have professional development.
November 6th students and teachers are out for election.
November 9th – Veteran’s Day Celebrations, Pep Rally and Snack Break

First Grade News – October 19, 2012
What a busy and wonderful week of learning! Be sure to ask your child what they know about fire safety!  
October’s Extra Challenges are awesome! Thank you so much for taking time with your child to do the activities.  
Please check your child’s Friday Folder for their AR contract. If you have questions please feel free to contact us.
Next week is packed full of fun! Below are all the upcoming events…
*Red ribbon week: Please see back of newsletter to see what activities are happening.
*Thursday, October 25th fire squad/smoke house
*Fall Festival:  Thursday, October 25 at 5:00-7:00: We are in need of workers for our first grade booths. Please see attached form for information. Also, k-2 needs cakes for the cake walk, 3-5 bringing $3-$10 prizes for Bingo, and 6th chips for the BBQ supper.
*Fall Party: Our party will be on Friday, October 26th beginning at 1:45. Please see attached page for information.
*We are not going to wear Halloween costumes on October 31st.  However, on Friday October 26th your child is welcome to wear their costume as long as it is appropriate for school. Please no scary masks or weapons.

Thank you for taking time to attend parent/teacher conferences! It is hard to believe we are now in the second nine weeks of school!
Next week your child will have an AR reading contract. Please read, sign and return the next day.

Time flies when you are having fun! It is hard to believe the first nine weeks has come to a close! We are extremely proud of the progress our First Graders have made so far this year!

First Grade News – September 21, 2012
Fall on the Farm field trip was amazing! We had beautiful weather and well behaved students! You will have to ask your child what they enjoyed the most!  
Extra challenges look fantastic!  Thank you to those who are taking time to complete the projects! October Challenges will be sent home next week.
We are still working on the student directory. Thank you for your patience with this project!
Friday Folders will go home on Monday, September 24th!
